How to block an Ip address in Zonealarm Wandering aimlessly around grc.techtalk, I heard The Mask mention: > It is possible to block an ip address through Host file. I want to block an > Ip in Zonealarm Pro. \"Firewall\", Zones\", \"Add\", \"IP Address\", \"Blocked Zone\" That\'s from memory, so it may not be exact, but it should be pretty close... 🙂 -- Don \"Everything is deemed possible except that which is impossible in the nature of things.\" -- California Civil Code, \"Object of a Contract\" In article , Shockwave789@hotmail.com says... > It is possible to block an ip address through Host file. I want to block an > Ip in Zonealarm Pro. Actually, I didn\'t think it was possible to block an IP address using the \"hosts\" file. AIUI, hosts only works with \"Fully Qualified Domain Names\" (FQDNs), because hosts is checked prior to DNS lookups (under normal conditions). A hosts entry points to an IP address, thus overriding the need for a DNS search. But if an IP address is used instead of an FQDN, a DNS query is not necessary, and hosts will not be consulted in the lookup. -- Norman ~Win dain a lotica, En vai
