She spends 10 hours playing the piano. (喜欢弹琴,勤学苦练,一练就是10小时)
如果说It took her ten hours to play the piano则意为:由于难,内容多,不得不用上10个小时

可能还未住进,问是否愿意住这家旅馆,等待一个决定。同样:

是问吃后对中国菜的想法
What do you think about chinese food?
是问对方是否要吃中国菜(征求意见,发出邀请)

Unit 46 I have just received a letter.

1 你问他什么事让他这么开心。他神秘地说,他刚收到了一封信:
I have just reveived a letter.
2 你介绍朋友在这家宾馆下榻。你说,这家宾馆接待世界各地的客人:
The hotel receives guests form all over the world.
3 你急着等人家的答复,于是就说,你希望立即得到答复:
I hope to receive an instant reply.
4 弟弟放假不能回家。他说,要留校接受速成集训:
I'm to receive intensive training in school.
5 群众来信向你反映情况。你回信说,这件事会受到应有的关注的:
The matter will receive proper attention.
6 朋友几经失败仍然在不懈地努力。他说,他还没有得到他想要得到的:

7 他再也不想住那家酒店了。他说,他们接待他时全无热情:

8 患者担心这家医院的条件有限,怕医疗跟不上去。医生却说,他们保证让他受到最好的治疗:

但区别在于:

Unit 47 You can trust me anyway.

1 那人自称是你家的世交。他说,让你尽可以相信他:
You can trust me anyway.
2 朋友说你们夫妻像朋友一样。你说,你们可以彼此信赖:
We trust each other.
3 你让母亲明天早晨叫你起床。你说,你不相信那只旧钟:
I don't trust my old clock.
4 你认为她是一个健忘的人。于是,你对她说,别过于相信自己的记忆了,还是写下来吧:

5 经过一番选择,你认定了这个日本产的音箱。你对朋友说,请相信你的判断:

3 小孩子不排队跑到前面去买票。售票员告诉他,应该等轮到他的时候再买:

4 Johnny 的同伴都一一得到了提升。有一天Johnny说,很快就会轮到他了:

5 少年时的朋友都纷纷成家立业娶妻生子了。你对朋友说,就要轮到你了:
